A head-on collision Monday night on South Main Street in Elkton sent two people to the hospital.
Elkton police investigated and determined 17-year old Makyla Artis of Elkton was northbound near the United Southern Bank when she said she swerved to miss something in the road. Her vehicle entered the southbound lane and struck an SUV operated by 50-year old Kenneth Clayton of Guthrie.
Two passengers in the Artis vehicle—40-year old Martina Quarles of Elkton and a 1-year old family member—were taken by ambulance to Tennova Health Hospital for non-life-threatening injuries.
Artis was not injured and Clayton refused a trip to the hospital.
The Todd County Sheriff’s Department and Elkton Fire Department assisted at the scene.
