Tyrell Hatton survived a two-over 74 in his final round to post a one-shot win at the PGA Tour’s Arnold Palmer Invitational. Hatton finished the tournament at four-under par, one shot ahead of Marc Leishman. Rory McIlroy tied for fifth place at even par. The Players championship begins Thursday at TPC Sawgrass.

It took Ernie Els just three PGA Tour Champions events to get his first victory, winning the Hoag Classic in Newport Beach, CA Sunday. Els’ 16 under par score was two shots better than a trio of golfers including Fred Couples. Franklin’s Kenny Perry tied for 15th at seven under par while Paducah’s Russ Cochran tied for 36th at three under.
