Girls 2nd Region: Semifinal action Friday night saw Madisonville defeat Webster County 53-45. The Lady Maroons improved to 29-1 on the season with Webster County completing its season 17-11. In the other semifinal, Henderson County routed Trigg County 69-28. The Lady Colonels move to 21-7 on the season while Trigg County finished 25-9.
For the second time this season, Madisonville faces Henderson County at 6 pm this evening in the 2nd region championship game at Christian County High’s Lyle Dunbar Gym. Henderson County handed Madisonville its only loss of the season, 66-52, back on January 18th. The winner will play either Graves County or Marshall County in the Girls Sweet 16 at Rupp Arena in Lexington next Thursday at 12:30 pm Central time.
Girls 1st Region: Marshall County downed McCracken County 67-51 and Graves County defeated Calloway County 43-25 with the championship game between Marshall County and Graves County at 6 this evening in the CFSB Center at Murray State.
Girls 4th Region: Bowling Green topped Russell County 47-29 and Barren County routed Logan County 72-43. Bowling Green meets Barren County at 7 this evening in EA Diddle Arena in the title game.
Girls 3rd Region: Muhlenberg County edged Breckinridge County 51-48 with Owensboro Catholic topping Meade County 49-36. Muhlenberg County and Owensboro Catholic will play in the title game Sunday afternoon at 3 in the Owensboro Sportscenter.
