Parkway pursuit ends with injury crash, arrests

A pursuit of a stolen vehicle Friday morning on the Pennyrile Parkway ended with a crash and charges against four people.

Christian County Sheriff’s Deputy John Quarles attempted to stop a speeding vehicle near the 23 mile-marker, but the driver refused to pull over and lost control and crashed as he attempted to take Exit 11 onto the MLK Bypass.

A computer check revealed the car had been reported stolen in Jefferson County.

All four occupants, 22-year old Keyvonte Pettus, 22-year old Leonard Scott, 18-year old Arwan Arwan and 18-year old Renee Carnes—all of Louisville—were charged with receiving stolen property.

Pettus, Arwan and Carnes were treated and released from Jennie Stuart Medical Center and then lodged in the Christian County Jail. Scott was cited into court, as he had to be transferred to another hospital for treatment of his injuries.

Additional charges are likely against Pettus, according to police.
