Man indicted for alleged sexual abuse of juvenile

A man accused of sexual abuse against a juvenile was indicted Friday by the Christian County grand jury.

The true bill for first-degree sexual abuse of a child under the age of 12 was returned against 33-year old Cedrick Brown. It alleges that in February of last year, Brown made sexual contact with the victim.

Meanwhile, an indictment for wanton-endangerment, fourth-degree domestic assault and second-degree fleeing or evading police was returned against 46-year old Damon Hinkle of Hopkinsville.

An arrest citation for Hinkle from January 27 says he placed the 12-year old female victim in a choke hold and tossed her against a closet door. He also reportedly threatened to kill a person with a knife during the incident.

When Hopkinsville police arrived at the location of the incident in the 600 block of Vass Lane, Hinkle allegedly fled out the back door, but was soon caught and arrested.

A man with a long criminal history of burglaries and vehicle break-ins, 49-year old Billy Sanders of Hopkinsville, was indicted for third-degree burglary.

The original arrest warrant alleges that on January 30, Sanders went into a carport on Ridgehill Drive and rummaged through an unlocked car. He then allegedly removed sausage, beer and waffles from a refrigerator located under the carport.
