Webster County ends Christian County’s season/Madisonville also wins in 2nd Region tourney

Webster County broke open a one point game at halftime with a 19-3 third quarter run in defeating Christian County 62-39. The win marked the fourth straight in as many years for the Lady Trojans against Christian County in the 2nd region tournament.

Webster County outdistanced the Lady Colonels at the free throw line, going 24-31 while Christian County was 9-12. The Lady Trojans were led by Marissa Austin’s 23 points with Raigan Price adding 17 in improving to 17-10.

Christian County got 10 points from Mikayah Killebrew and nine from Amari Brown in finishing the season 12-18.

In the opening game, Madisonville broke open a tight game in the third quarter and routed Crittenden County 70-46. The Lady Maroons are 28-1 while Crittenden County concludes the season 18-11.

Madisonville and Webster County will meet in the first semifinal game Friday night at 6 in Lyle Dunbar Gym.
