Rep. Dossett says House committee likely to take up budget Wed. or Thurs.

A Kentucky House committee is likely to take up the biennial budget mid-to-late week and there could be a full House vote as soon as Friday.

That’s according to state Representative Myron Dossett, who serves on the Appropriations and Revenue Committee that will be the first body to vote on the spending plan.

He says expect the budget to fully fund the pension systems again—a priority for him.

The road plan will likely come a few days later—possibly next week—according to Representative Dossett.

The budget will likely undergo more changes in the Senate and a conference committee will almost certainly be utilized to iron out the differences. Both chambers will want to get the finished spending plan to Governor Andy Beshear before the veto recess begins in early April to allow themselves the opportunity to override any potential vetoes.
