Hopkinsville Water Environment Authority will be closing portions East 21st Street Thursday and Friday to accommodate sanitary sewer work associated with the Kirkman Terrace development.
According to a news release, East 21st Street will be closed between Fort Campbell Boulevard at Walnut Street and South Virginia Street. The closure will take place between 8 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. on both Thursday and Friday. Northbound traffic on Fort Campbell Boulevard and southbound traffic on Walnut Street will not be able to turn onto East 21st Street. Likewise traffic from South Virginia Street will be unable to turn onto East 21st due to the closure.
Motorists are encouraged to use Country Club Lane and East 9th Street as detour routes and are advised to use appropriate caution while traveling in those areas.
