New CBA for NFL currently a no go for players

NFL player representatives will not vote on a proposed new collective bargaining agreement as the union seeks to continue negotiations with team owners. The owners had voted in favor of a new CBA Thursday in New York and presented the revised plan with the players union, whose executive committee voted 6-5 to recommend players reject the terms of the proposal.

The primary sticking point with the players is believed to be the league’s wishes to expand the regular season schedule from 16 to 17 games. The current CBA is set to expire following the conclusion of the 2020 season, and the league has publicly expressed a desire to get a new deal done before that date.
