Rory McIlroy is in the lead at the WGC-Mexico Championship. McIlroy shot a six-under 65 in Thursday’s first round to lead by two strokes. His hot start followed a switch back to his old putter. Bubba Watson and Louisville area native Justin Thomas are tied for second at minus-four. Four other golfers are three shots off the pace at three-under. Nashville’s Brandt Snedeker is tied for 62nd at five over par 76.
