11th ranked Kentucky won a pair of games Friday defeating Georgia Tech 10-9 and over host Samford University 7-4. Former Christian County standout Emmy Blane started at third base but had no official at bats against Georgia Tech and was 0-3 against Samford. UK is back in action today meeting DePaul and Georgia Tech.
Murray State won its sixth straight game crushing Howard University 14-4 in five innings at the Stinger Classic in Montgomery, AL Friday. Former Christian County standout Tyler Shemwell appeared as a pinch hitter with no official at bat, but did score a run. The 8-2 Racers continue play today against North Alabama and Grambling.
Austin Peay lost to Central Michigan 4-3 and 13-2 to James Madison at the Georgia Classic Friday in Athens, GA. The Governors-now 3-5 on the season-play the same two teams today.
Western Kentucky defeated Green Bay 7-6 and Indiana State 4-0 at the Hilltopper Classic Friday. The Lady Toppers face Ball State and an opponent to be determined following other games on Saturday.
