The Spring Kentucky Forest Fire Hazard Season has begun and residents are reminded of restrictions on outdoor burning.
From February 15 through April 30, it is illegal to set a fire within 150 feet of any woodland or brushland except between the hours of 6 p.m. and 6 a.m. or when the ground is covered with snow.
Officials say temperatures and wind speeds typically drop and the humidity typically rises during the nighttime hours, making it safer to set outdoor fires.
