Several agencies searching for woman reportedly swept into Tennessee River

First responder agencies from multiple counties spent Saturday looking for a woman who was reportedly swept into floodwaters of the Tennessee River in Marshall County.

The woman in her late 30’s walked into floodwaters toward a vessel when she was swept into the river near Calvert City, according to information provided to WHOP News.

The Marshall County Rescue Squad was assisted in their search for the woman Saturday by rescue squads from Trigg, Lyon and McCracken counties. The Kentucky Department of Fish and Wildlife, Paducah Fire Department, Calvert City Police Department and East Marshall Fire Department have also assisted in the effort.

The search will resume Sunday morning.
