Houston Astros players Alex Bregman and Jose Altuve said today the team is sorry for its sign-stealing scheme that was investigated and punished by Major League Baseball. Altuve said there was a full team meeting Wednesday to discuss what happened Astros owner Jim Crane and new manager Dusty Baker – who replaced the fired AJ Hinch – also spoke at a news conference at the team’s spring training facility in Florida, with Crane saying ”We cannot take back what happened”.

MLB did not punish any players for the cheating and Crane said he stood by that and added they were not going to do anything to the players.

Major League Baseball has officially instituted the three-batter minimum for a pitcher unless he gets hurt or the half inning ends -a rule that will begin in spring training and carry into the season. Also new for this season is the active roster from opening day through the end of August will increase by one to 26, while September rosters will be at 28 – down from 40 in previous seasons.
