Man arrested for drug trafficking, gun charges

A traffic stop at Linn and Moayon Street Wednesday morning led to the arrest of a Hopkinsville man for gun and drug trafficking charges.

An officer stopped 19-year old Lamonta Solomon for traffic and equipment violations and an arrest citation says there was a strong odor of marijuana coming from his vehicle.

A search allegedly revealed a handgun in the console and a back pack containing a digital scale and marijuana. A computer check showed the gun had been reported stolen in Clarksville.

Solomon was arrested and charged with trafficking in marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia, receiving a stolen firearm, failure to use proper signal and improper equipment.
