Former Atlanta Braves catcher Brian McCann tried to stop the Houston Astros from sign stealing. The Athletic cites two unidentified members of the 2017 Astros as saying McCann approached then teammate Carlos Beltran and asked him to shut down the operation.

The Boston Red Sox are naming bench coach Ron Roenicke as interim manager. He replaces Alex Cora, who was fired for his role in the Houston Astros’ sign-stealing scandal. Once Major League Baseball finishes its investigation into the Red Sox, Roenicke is expected to take over on a permanent basis.
