Russellville man among three killed in Tennessee crash

A Russellville man and two Bowling Green residents were killed in an accident over the weekend on Interstate 65 in Robertson County, Tennessee.

The Tennessee Highway Patrol investigated the Friday night crash and determined a southbound tractor-trailer driven by 52-year old Anthony Joe Bright of Alabama rear-ended a vehicle operated by 53-year old Robin Cofer of Bowling Green as Cofer hit the brakes in an attempt to cross into the median.

The collision caused Cofer’s automobile to travel through the median and collide with a northbound tractor-trailer driven by 59-year old David Lee Chapman of Radcliff.

Cofer and her two passengers—53-year old Shirley Posey of Bowling Green and 58-year old Michael Posey of Russellville—all died from their injuries.

Chapman was taken to a local hospital and Bright was not hurt.

The crash happened just south of the Kentucky state line in Tennessee.
