There will be a planned power outage for much of downtown Hopkinsville Tuesday night.
Hopkinsville Electric System says nearly all of downtown will go dark at about 9:30 p.m. to upgrade the city’s electric grid for future reliability.
Most of the outage area will see their lights come back on by 10 p.m.
One area that will remain without service should see relief by midnight, when power will be restored to the western portion of downtown including Bethel Street, Riverfront Drive and the far western ends of several streets.
A section of downtown including South Virginia and South Main Street from Second to Seventh Street, will lose power again at midnight for about three hours.
