An arrest warrant for assault and strangulation was served Thursday against a Hopkinsville man.
It alleges that on December 22, 44-year old Nealie Lewis of Hopkinsville pushed a female victim against a door, placed his hand around her throat and applied pressure, impeding her ability to breathe.
When the woman tried to get away, he allegedly shoved her to the floor and stepped on her chest.
Lewis is charged with first-degree strangulation and fourth-degree assault (dating violence).
