A man was arrested by Hopkinsville police Thursday afternoon on a felony criminal mischief charge after he allegedly spray-painted messages to President Donald Trump on a wall.
An arrest citation for 58-year old Mark Cunningham of Morganfield says he used red paint to spray #TRUMPWEREDYOURBOOK and #ARTOFTHEDEAL on a wall of the old Henderson-Moorefield Lumber Company building near East Seventh Street and the railroad crossing.
Cunningham reportedly had light red coloring on his clothes and told officers he spray-painted the messages because he wanted to get the president’s attention and doesn’t have enough money to advertise.
Cunningham is the same man who was arrested in January of last year for allegedly breaking into the Hopkinsville post office and causing damage and stealing property. He reportedly told officers at the time that he did it because “it had to be done.”
