A former Todd County sheriff was flown to a Nashville hospital after he was struck by a vehicle in his driveway Monday morning in Todd County.
It happened shortly before 9 a.m. in the 13000 block of Allegre Road just north of Kirkmansville. Todd County Sheriff Tracy White says former sheriff, 73-year old Keith Wells was talking to a man inside a vehicle in his driveway. When the man went to back out of Wells’ driveway, he didn’t realize Wells had walked behind him and he backed over the former sheriff.
Wells was taken by EMS to a landing zone and then flown by Air Evac to a Nashville hospital with a possible broken arm and other injuries that did not appear to be life-threatening.
Sheriff White says it was an accident and no further investigation will be needed.
The Todd County Rescue Squad and Todd County Emergency Management also responded to the scene.
