Two arrested on drug, fake money charges

A traffic stop at Cox Mill Road and Country Club Lane early Monday morning ended with arrests for drug and fake money charges.

Hopkinsville Police Officer Jeremy Davidson stopped a car driven by 26-year old Kesie Comperry of Hopkinsville for an equipment violation.

An arrest citation says an odor of marijuana was coming from the vehicle and a search allegedly revealed a baggie containing methamphetamine, a digital scale and a box of syringes.

Partially-smoked marijuana cigarettes and cigars were also located, according to police.

A fraudulent $100 bill was allegedly located in Comperry’s purse, in addition to a check belonging to someone else.

Comperry and her passenger, 36-year old Gregory Shemwell of Cadiz, were both arrested for possession of meth and drug paraphernalia.

Comperry was additionally charged with possession of marijuana and two counts of criminal possession of a forged instrument.
