Unemployment was stagnant from November to December in Christian and Todd counties and went up slightly in Trigg.
Christian County’s December jobless rate was 4.8 percent, the same as November and up from 4.3 percent one year ago. That equated to 1,220 people who were looking for work, but were unable to find it.
Todd County’s jobless rate remained at 3.8 percent, which was up from 3.3 percent in December of 2018. That was tied with Crittenden County for the lowest unemployment rate in the Pennyrile region.
The December unemployment rate in Trigg County was 4 percent, up from 3.8 percent in November and the same as one year ago.
Muhlenberg County had the region’s highest jobless rate at 6.3 percent.
The state average was 3.9 percent and the national number was 3.4 percent.
