Crofton man gets 20 year sentence for sexual assault of juvenile

A Crofton man has entered a guilty plea in a sexual assault of a minor under the age of 12.

Thirty-three-year-old Kevin Wade Hines pled guilty Thursday morning to first-degree rape, sodomy and sexual abuse, according to court documents. The deal comes with a 20 year sentence and he must serve at least 17 years before becoming eligible for parole.

He will be monitored by Kentucky Probation and Parole for five years following his release and will be required to register as a sex offender for the remainder of his life.

According to the original arrest warrant, Hines forced a female victim under the age of 12 into sexual intercourse, beginning a few days before the start of the 2017 school year.  The abuse and sexual assaults continued for a period of over a year until his eventual arrest.
