Bid on first burger from renovated Ferrell’s to benefit library project

Anyone wanting the first burger off the grill when Ferrell’s Snappy Service reopens on Valentine’s Day can bid for that luxury beginning Tuesday in a fundraiser for the local library.

The Hopkinsville-Christian County Public Library and Ferrell’s are partnering in a Burgers for Books Silent Auction.

A news release says the auction will kick off Tuesday at 9:30 a.m. Interested participants may stop by the library located on Bethel Street and place their bid for the opportunity for the first burger cooked at Ferrell’s newly renovated restaurant. Bidding will begin at $20, all bids must be made in $10 increments, and participants must be 18 years or older. Bidding will close on February 11th at 5 p.m.

All money raised will go to the library’s patio renovation project that is being led by the 2020 Hopkinsville-Christian County Leadership Class.

Library Executive Director DeAnna Sova says, “The Leadership Class approached the library about their desire to repair and renovate the patio between the first and second floors. While the patio is currently functional, it needs updating in order to enhance the patron experience. The Burgers for Books silent auction will provide the class with seed money to begin the project. We could not be more excited that this opportunity and project aligned.”
