Hendricks outlines his plan of action for EDC

Although he still has a few days left of being the mayor of Hopkinsville, Carter Hendricks outlined his action plan for when he officially becomes the director of the South Western Kentucky Economic Development Council at Monday’s meeting.

Speaking with the board of directors, Hendricks says he’s already begun meeting with regional industries and has had good discussions with them.  He says he intends to passionately pursue the next big thing.

He says he intends to focus on recruitment, retention, advocacy for projects and more.

Hendricks says there are many projects the council will focus on pushing for, including the Interstate 24 industrial connector, which he says is of vital importance for the local industrial park and the economy.

He says the region as whole will benefit from that industrial connector, and they will continue to push for funding to finish the I-169 project.  Other goals Hendricks has includes creating strong relationships with local, regional, state wide and national partners, be good stewards of resources and be a positive voice for the region.
