A former TV43 reporter is returning to Hopkinsville to serve as director of military affairs for the Christian County Chamber of Commerce.
Chamber President and CEO Kelli Pendleton announced the hiring Sunday of Mona Nair, a native of India who grew up in Dubai before moving to the U.S. to attend Temple University where she earned her degree in Journalism, Public Relations and Advertising.
A news release says Nair started her journalism career at TV43 before going to WWTV in Cadillac, Michigan. Following that she spent six years as a news reporter and anchor at WATE in Knoxville, Tennessee.
Nair is quoted as saying, “With Kelli’s recent appointment as civilian aide to the Secretary of the Army, this is an exciting time at the chamber. She is a solid leader with a great vision of things that need to be done to better support military families in the area. That plan will require some serious groundwork. I’m looking forward to helping her execute these ideas as this position takes a slightly new direction.”
