All volunteer fire departments in Todd County will soon be equipped with Nexedge digital radios and it will cost a little less than what was expected.
Todd County Emergency Management Director Daniel Smith gave a report to Todd Fiscal Court Friday morning, saying all departments should be off their analogue radios and on the digital system in about another week.
Total cost of the 160 digital radios is expected to be about $86,000, $2,000 less than the projected cost.
The fiscal year is more than halfway over and Todd County Treasurer says all departments remain within their budgets and revenues from Novelis have been better than expected.
In other action, magistrates approved ordinances to reduce the speed limit to 35 mph on Beckam Road and B. White Road near the Todd County Funeral Home.
