Three arrested for drug trafficking in Muhlenberg Co.

Kentucky State Police have arrested three people in Muhlenberg County and charged them multiple counts of trafficking in a controlled substance following a traffic stop Wednesday.

According to a news release, troopers observed a vehicle that failed to use a turn signal and a traffic stop was initiated.  Contact was made with the driver, 40-year old Ricky Groves of Graham and two passengers, 47-year old Carrie Groves of Owensboro and 25-year old Jeremy Gidcumb of Drakesboro.

During the investigation, a K9 unit allegedly indicated on the vehicle, and a search reportedly revealed over 7 ounces of suspected methamphetamine inside the vehicle. Along with the suspected methamphetamine were multiple pills, marijuana, and drug paraphernalia.

All three were arrested and charged with trafficking in methamphetamine, trafficking in opiates, trafficking in a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of marijuana.

Ricky Groves was additionally charged with first-degree promoting contraband, an additional count of trafficking in a controlled substance and multiple traffic violations.
