Hopkinsville man charged with burglary, credit card fraud

A Hopkinsville man was served with a warrant this week for burglary and credit card fraud.

It alleges that on July 6 of last year, 54-year old Robert Watkins entered the victim’s home and took a wallet containing cash and bank card. He allegedly used the card to make two transactions totaling $304.

Police say Watkins went to the home to ask if the victim had any work that needed to be done. He allegedly went inside stole the wallet while the victim was outside. Video surveillance captured him using the card to withdraw funds, according to police.

Watkins is charged with second-degree burglary and fraudulent use of a credit card.
