Downtown Hopkinsville will soon be home to a new restaurant as the location where Harper House once stood will now be home to ‘The Local’ Irish Pub and Kitchen.
According to a news release, The Local Irish Pub and Kitchen will offer guests a casual dining experience featuring signature Irish dishes such as bangers and mash with imported Irish sausage and house made Irish fish and chips. They will also serve burgers with locally raised beef, and a full selection of salads, appetizers and other entrees.
The establishment will be an expansion of the popular Princeton, Kentucky restaurant, Black Patch Grille, which will continue to operate. This will be the third restaurant venture for owners Peter and Lisa Hussey, who previously owned New York City’s Session House Irish Pub.
They say they are excited to bring their menu to Hopkinsville. Lisa Hussey says, “The Local will be a place where families can come and enjoy a great dining experience in a casual atmosphere, and it will also be a great date night spot.”
The Local plans to open early spring and will be open Monday through Saturday for dinner, initially, with plans to expand in the future to offer lunch.
