The Hopkinsville Police Department and Christian County Sheriff’s Department are welcoming new officers, after they completed basic training at the Department of Criminal Justice Training.
According to a news release, the Hopkinsville Police Department will welcome newcomers Troyvine Jefferson, Megan Little, Shaun Moore and Maricela Williams. Raymond Poindexter will be joining the Christian County Sheriff’s Department.
The graduates completed 20 weeks of training, which consisted of 800 hours of recruit-level instruction. Major training areas included law offenses and procedures, vehicle operations, firearms, investigations, first aid and CPR.
Basic training is mandatory for Kentucky law enforcement officers to comply with the state’s Peace Officer Professional Standards Act of 1998.
