Much-needed work to patch concrete on I-24 in Christian County is underway and motorists should slow down when they see construction crews.
The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet says it will be addressing pavement repairs on I-24 for the next four weeks. The work has started on the eastbound lanes between the Pennyrile Parkway and the state line.
Crews will be on site from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. and motorists can expect delays while this work is performed as well as after the concrete patch is applied. The closures will have to remain in place until the concrete cures.
A news release says motorists should be alert for one lane traffic with alternating flow controlled by flaggers. Appropriate caution is required where equipment, flaggers, and other personnel are working in close proximity to traffic.
