A woman was killed in house fire Monday night in Todd County.
Todd County Dispatch was notified of a house fire on State Line Road south of Allensville about 8:20 p.m. and learned that a person was lying on the ground outside of the home.
Members of the Allensville Volunteer Fire Department arrived and determined that the woman lying near the front porch was not breathing and began administering CPR.
Paramedics with Todd County EMS took over when they arrived and continued lifesaving efforts on the way to Tennova Health Hospital, according to Todd County Emergency Management Director Daniel Smith, who says 50-year old Yolanda Spann of 1195 State Line Road was pronounced dead at the emergency room.
A man who lived at the home went to the hospital and is in stable condition, according to a family member.
Firefighters from Allensville, Elkton, Guthrie and Olmstead battled the structure fire and the Todd County Sheriff’s Department and Emergency Management assisted at the scene.
The home is a total loss and the cause of the blaze has not been determined.
