One of the two Honolulu, Hawaii police officers shot and killed by a suspect over the weekend formerly served with the Montgomery County, Tennessee Sheriff’s Department.
Honolulu police said Tiffany Enriquez and Kaulike Kalama were fatally shot by a man as the officers responded Sunday to the report of a stabbing incident.
Enriquez was a seven-year veteran of the Honolulu Police Department and before that she worked as a jail deputy in Montgomery County.
The Montgomery County Sheriff’s Department issued a statement Monday saying they mourn with police in Hawaii and that their hearts are heavy.
They say Enriquez was also a veteran of the U.S. Air Force.
