The Hopkinsville-Christian County Public Library and Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library have teamed up with Oak Grove Community Center to host a life-size game night coming up this Friday.
The life-size game night will be held from 5 until 6:30 p.m. at the Oak Grove Community Center on Thompsonville Lane.
A news release says the event is free to the public and “children and teens are invited to join in human hungry, hungry hippo, life-size board games, and relay races.”
DeeAnna Sova is the executive director of the library and says they have “been working with Melissa Lynch, Director of the Community Center, to create programs that the library can bring to the citizens of Oak Grove.”
She adds that, “Oak Grove consists of 1200 library card holders and they account for approximately 220 of the 12,000 items circulated each month at the Hopkinsville-Christian County Public Library.”
The Hopkinsville-Christian County Imagination Library currently serves 70 percent of eligible children in the Oak Grove area. Coordinator Sarah Hardison added, “The Oak Grove community is unique in the sense that it is ever changing. There are children moving in and out of the area on a constant basis. The Imagination Library and the Oak Grove Community Center share a common goal to make these families feel welcome and equipped with local resources.”
