A local woman was named educator of the year at the Hopkins County Martin Luther King, Jr. celebration Saturday in Madisonville.
The theme of this year’s event was “Fulfilling the Dream through Faith, Community and Education.”
The Dr. Martin Luther King Educator of the Year Award was presented to Veronica Sharber Buckner, who lives in Christian County and teaches at Hopkins County Central High School.
The program was held in the Madisonville Community College Byrnes Auditorium.
