Murray State splits at Southeast Missouri

Murray State pushed past the Southeast Missouri in overtime with a 96-91 victory. The win extended the Racers’ Ohio Valley Conference regular season winning streak to 15 games and gave Coach Matt McMahon his 100th win in five seasons with the Racers. The win kept Murray State (13-5) in a share of OVC first place at 6-0 and their pushed their current season win streak to seven. The Racers were led in scoring by Tevin Brown with 29 points while Anthony Smith had 22 points and 10 rebounds.

In the women’s contest, Macey Turley had 25 points but it wasn’t enough for the Racers who fell to SEMO 88-73. The Racers fell to 8-9 overall and 1-5 in the OVC. Murray State returns home to host Belmont in a doubleheader Thursday, with the women’s game starting at 3 pm with the men’s game at 6 pm.
