Four indicted on robbery charges

The four suspects accused of committing a robbery outside of Burke’s Outlet in December were indicted Friday by the Christian County Grand Jury.

Indictments for first-degree robbery were returned against 21-year old Jacorie Summers of Hopkinsville, 18-year old Tyler Parker of Cadiz, 19-year old Jordan Shemwell of Cadiz and 19-year old Zyair Clack of Owensboro.

Arrest warrants say the male victim in the December 9 incident went over to a vehicle and shook hands with Shemwell, who he knew from school. The other occupants of the vehicle became angry about the handshake and an argument ensued.

Police allege Summers and Parker got out of the vehicle assaulted the victim and that Clack threatened to shoot him.

The warrant says the suspects took the victim’s wallet, cash, iPhone, jacket and boots and then fled the scene.

Meanwhile, the grand jury indicted 33-year old Lashikka Anderson of Hopkinsville for second-degree assault and first-degree burglary.

Police say Anderson chased Brandon Smith into an East 23rd Street home on December 1 and assaulted him with some type of weapon, causing injuries that required treatment at Jennie Stuart Medical Center.

An indictment for first-degree wanton endangerment, fleeing or evading police and driving on a suspended license was returned against 28-year old Marcus Brown of Hopkinsville. He allegedly led police on a vehicle pursuit that came to an end on College Street last month. He had been sought on a warrant for parole violation at the time.
