The inmate that walked away from a work detail in Christian County has been taken back into custody in Warren County Friday morning.
According to Kentucky State Police, troopers responded to a gas station in Smith’s Grove, Ky. for reports of a suspicious subject. Upon arrival, they made contact with 38-year old Wayne Weeks of Hopkinsville, who had reportedly escaped while on work release at the Christian County Senior Citizen’s Center.
Weeks had been lodged for charges of felony receiving stolen property, two counts of bail jumping and possession of a controlled substance. He will now have additional charges in relation to the escape.
