One of the three men shot Wednesday night in Clarksville on Bennett Drive has died and the other two remain in the hospital.
According to the Clarksville Police Department, the 32-year old male victim succumbed to multiple gunshot wounds at Vanderbilt University Center. Two other men, 34-year old Decory Smith and 35-year old Marc Crowder, went by private vehicle to local hospitals for gunshot wounds.
They are reportedly in stable condition in local hospitals. Investigation determined that Smith and Crowder went to visit the victim and were allowed inside the residence. Witnesses told officers that once inside, someone was heard saying, “You know what this is” and then there was gunfire. They reportedly fled the scene and left the victim, where he was found by police who were investigating a call of shots fired.
Warrants for criminal homicide have been filed against Smith and Crowder and will be served against them when they are released from the hospital. Law enforcement personnel are assigned to the hospitals to secure them both until they can be discharged and booked into the Montgomery County Jail.
The victim’s name has not yet been released.
