Sen. McConnell slams impeachment, praises trade deal

Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell of Kentucky is again slamming House Democrats for impeaching President Trump.

Opening the Senate Thursday, McConnell called it an entirely partisan process.  He criticized House Speaker Nancy Pelosi for handing out souvenir pens and posing for happy photographs after signing the two articles of impeachment.

Meanwhile, McConnell praised the passage of the United States-Mexico-Canada trade agreement, which now heads to the President’s desk. He calls it a “big bipartisan win” and notes, “it comes the very same week as President Trump also signed Phase One of his administration’s trade agreement with China.”
