Paul: ‘Contradictory Information’ Given On Soleimani Strike

U.S. Senator Rand Paul of Bowling Green doesn’t like the inconsistencies he’s hearing from Trump administration officials on the strike that killed an Iranian general.

The Republican lawmaker specifically called out Secretary of State Mike Pompeo. Paul is on the Senate Foreign Relations Committee and he criticized administration officials for claiming they didn’t have time to come back to Congress and answer questions.

Noting the 2002 authorization for military force in Iraq, Paul said a debate should be held on whether the U.S. should even be there in addition to Afghanistan.

He says Congress must get the upper hand.

Senator Paul made his remarks on NBC’s Meet the Press.
