HPD: Man stole cashier’s checks, attempted to cash them

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Hopkinsville police have charged a Hopkinsville man with second-degree burglary and more after he allegedly stole and cashed six cashier checks.

According to the police report, 37-year old Daryl Hall of Hopkinsville allegedly entered the Car Outlet and removed six cashier checks from the business. He then reportedly tried to cash two checks in the amount of $7,800 from the Planters Bank locations on Fort Campbell Boulevard and Canton Pike.  He allegedly tried to cash another check in the amount of $2,400 at the BB&T on North Drive.

Contact was made with Hall, who reportedly had the check in his possession and admitted to being under the influence of methamphetamine.  A search of his person revealed a small bag containing suspected met and a syringe.

Hall was arrested and charged with second-degree burglary, criminal possession of a forged instrument, possession of meth and drug paraphernalia and public intoxication.
