There will be a Republican primary for Todd County Clerk after Kent Knight filed his papers Wednesday.
Knight served as Todd County judge-executive from 2003 through 2006 and later served as District 4 constable.
He will face Todd County Coroner Timothy Wells in the primary election, with the winner to possibly face interim Clerk Cindy O’Bryan in November. O’Byran is running as a Democrat and is currently unopposed.
The winner of that election will complete the unexpired term of Leslie Cunningham, who died in August following a battle with cancer.
