Predators name Hynes as new head coach

The Nashville Predators have named former New Jersey Devils coach John Hynes as the third head coach in franchise history. In parts of five NHL seasons – all spent with the Devils – Hynes compiled a 150-159-45 record. Hynes replaces Peter Laviolette-who along with associate coach Kevin McCarthy-were fired Monday. The Predators entertain the Boston Bruins tonight at 7 in Bridgestone Arena.
