Four Christian County students have been nominated by Congressman James Comer to the United States Service Academies.
According to a news release, those students are Denarius Barnes of Oak Grove, John Cogbill Jr. of Fort Campbell, Javier Bland of Oak Grove and Lilyan Hendricks of Hopkinsville. Barnes and Bland, who both attend Hopkinsville High School, were nominated for the U.S. Military Academy.
Cogbill received nominations to the United States Military Academy, United States Naval Academy, and United States Air Force Academy. He attends Fort Campbell High School. Hendricks received nominations to the United States Military Academy and United States Air Force Academy and she is a student at University Heights Academy.
Congressman Comer says, “It’s my honor to nominate Denarius, John, Javier and Lilyan to United States Service Academy posts. Their hard work in the Christian County community make them strong and qualified candidates for the service academies. I know they will represent their families and communities well.”
