The Lyon County Sheriff’s Office filed charged against a Kuttawa man Sunday after a large amount of counterfeit cash was reportedly found at his home.
Police received a disturbance complaint on Robertson Road just outside of Kuttawa at about 4:20 p.m. and a news release says a large amount of currency was observed in plain view. Further investigation determined the 86 $100 bills were counterfeit.
Sheriff Brent White and Deputy Joe Witherspoon charged 33-year old Timothy Wyse of the home with criminal possession of a forged instrument.
Police say the fake money was similar to bills recovered during a traffic stop on KY 93 South on Christmas day.
