Wednesday will mark 80 years on the air for WHOP and we will air a special extended Early Bird Show program that morning to go back and listen to some of the voices—past and present—who have made the radio stations what they have become over eight decades.
General Manager Mike Chadwell says the program will feature some recordings you may have listened to in the past and some you have likely never heard.
Listeners will hear how WHOP began and what broadcasting was like in the 1940’s.
While the Early Bird Show normally ends at 9 o’clock, Chadwell says that won’t be the case Wednesday with the special programming.
The 80th Anniversary Program will air on Lite Rock 98.7, News Radio WHOP 95.3 FM and 1230 AM and online at lite987whop.com and whopam.com.
