WKU splits Conference USA openers with North Texas

Western Kentucky fell behind by 15 in the second half, but caught fire from deep to power past North Texas 93-84 in their Conference USA opener. Five Hilltoppers reached double figures, led by junior guard Josh Anderson’s 19 points, five rebounds and three assists. Graduate senior guard Camron Justice and freshman guard Jordan Rawls each scored 18 points and made three 3-pointers, while Justice added seven rebounds. WKU is back action tomorrow afternoon hosting Rice at 4 pm in EA Diddle Arena.

Western Kentucky’s Lady Toppers fell on the road to North Texas to open Conference USA play 61-54. After falling behind following a one-sided second quarter, the Lady Toppers nearly rallied back in the fourth quarter, drawing within four points but were unable to complete the comeback. The Lady Toppers play at Rice Saturday afternoon at 2 pm.
